Dear Readers,

Bella Destinee would like to share a post-wedding testimonial from our real clients bringing you true and honest perspectives on their whole wedding experiences through their eyes.

Don & Kaycee give really great advice and insights looking back at their own wedding day.  Reading this story makes me smile and proud–we spent nearly 1 year to plan for the wedding and accomplished A LOT together. DKLA, thanks  for being our guest blogger and sharing your journey with us!

Enjoy~

On the morning of May 29, 2010, I proposed to Kaycee atop a hot air balloon. In our private balloon I had also hired a violinist to play her favorite Filipino love song. It took one month to plan that Memorial Holiday Weekend & it couldn’t have turned out any better. At the time I thought to myself, “This must be the hardest thing a man goes through in life, proposing!” Oh, was I wrong.

Now, I admit I am not your typical, laid back kind of guy. I know I’m very meticulous & extremely detail-oriented. I definitely possess a Type A personality & sometimes it gets the best of me. At times I’m proud of this characteristic because it motivates me to turn my dreams into reality. Our wedding on May 28, 2011 was definitely a dream come true!

Kaycee is the passive & carefree one between us. Opposites attract & that’s how we get along so well. The early stages of our wedding planning were a bit rocky mainly due to the disagreements between budgeting the wedding. We needed further guidance with the whole process & so we met with wedding planners. The first wedding planner was recommended to us by many of our friends. She is pretty well known to the Los Angeles area. After meeting with her, we did not feel that connection. I, for one, did not feel she cared much about our ideas & ambitions about our wedding. The energy lacked & so did our interest in her.

Katie Lee from Bella Destinee was our second & final wedding planner prospect. We cannot emphasize enough how quickly we all connected the first day we met! She was not at all fake & it was for certain that she shared the same ambitions we had. Kaycee & I knew from the first few minutes upon meeting with her that Katie was the one to help make our dream wedding become reality!

As months of planning progressed, we found ourselves changing our minds with everything. From colors to cakes & from designs to overall theme, it has definitely been a journey for me, Kaycee & Katie. Looking back at it all, it was a masterpiece that came to life on its own as we help guide its direction. In the beginning I was a bit closed-minded to certain colors & styles but the beauty of the journey allowed me to open my mind to other venues. Kaycee & I cannot be any happier with our wedding. There were no regrets whatsoever & the compromises we made to allow us to have our dream wedding were well worth it. It’s a great feeling being married & not look back thinking that we should have done something differently.

One major lesson Kaycee & I learned is to accept things as they come. Nothing is perfect & this was very hard for me to accept at first. There will be arguments among your bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents & even other guests but it is important to know that your wedding day is YOUR wedding day. The DKLA Wedding (Don & Kaycee Laroza) is our masterpiece. It is one amazing day that allows us to show our family & friends how we live, how we love, & how we view our lives.
