The Figuroa Mountain Farmhouse – Los Olivos

It’s time for another wedding feature! I am so delighted to share this lovely event with you today, as it was my favorite wedding in May, 2010 . With a vision for a fresh, chic, spring-inspired affair that reflected a love for nature. We discussed a citrus + green palette that had me absolutely smitten. The final result? a refreshing, cheerful, and altogether sweet scene that made me (literally) squeal with joy. In addition to our yummy fruit-inspired colors (orange, lime, tangerine…), we decided to play up the charm by integrating playful, vintage-feeling décor.

Jennifer + Shin | Wedding at Lawry’s Beverly Hills {Part 1}

.

.

Hello everyone!!  Today I’m thrilled to share one of the sweetest weddings. Jennifer and Shin got married at the famous Lawry’s Beverly Hills back in April. Jennifer was such a down-to-earth kind of girl and also kept the planning process very cool & calm especially after she heard the news about the volcano eruption in Iceland which caused the shortage of all spring flowers.  Planes transport almost 90 percent of all popular spring flowers, including peonies and tulips (which were her main flowers), to the United States from Holland but, with planes grounded because of the volcano, it became difficult to send overseas.  My good friend Kerim from My Wedding Blooms went the extra mile  to get the flowers she wanted and worked his magic to make things more beautiful at the end though.  Everything from stationery to florals was clean and simple utilizing a palette of pure white,  pastel pink with a navy blue accent.  Jennifer and Shin delighted their guests with a host of treats including meatballs and potato fries, a scrumptious candy display which served as the place cards, the famous Lawry’s prime rib and mouthwatering sea bass and always crowd-pleasing dessert bar!  Best of all, the day was filled with so much love and happiness. Who could ever complain about the warm, melting chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a dessert after a decadent meal? This was one of the yummiest weddings ever!

.

J+S: Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day!  I adore you both and wish you a lifetime of joy together.  Jennifer – thanks for being such a cool bride! Shin – Your genuine love towards Jenn is so beautiful and thanks for being so humorous during our meetings. =)

Congratulations from all of us at bella destinee

Tiffany + Joshua | Malibu Calamigos Wedding

.

May 2nd, 2010

Today we wanted to share one of our favorite weddings from a couple very near and dear to us. Tiffany & Joshua wedded last May at Calamigos in Malibu and their wedding was anything but ordinary. For starters, they are both sheriffs and they were so calm and relaxed throughout the whole wedding.  I’d give them 10 out of 10 for being one of the most relaxed and cool couples of all my wedding planning history! Tiffany still jokes around that she could go through the whole process all over again and get married again. That’s how much we loved and enjoyed every step of our wedding planning and all the fun details.

Honoring the Japaneses/Hawaiian and Korean background from the couple, we incorporated some of the cultural elements to our wedding.

Since the bride’s family was from Hawaii, both parents accentuated with the Hawaiian leis during the ceremony.  Also, her father had a wonderful voice and sang a Hawaiian love song for the guests during his welcome speech, which was just phenomenal. We also used smooth river rocks to put all the guest names which served as a place card.  All of our lovely stationery was produced with a traditional Japanese paper to add a flavor as well. The biggest hit was our Asian  dessert bar. Our very own pastry chef, Amber, baked yummy green tea cupcakes, Korean sweet rice cakes, cake pops using our theme color (sage green, blush pink & ivory), monakas wrapped with Asian paper, Japanese mochis and a real sushi fondant cake which looked so real that everyone had to feel it.

Congrats again to the happy couple and all of us at Bella Destinee wish them all the best!

Hannah + Thomas | Huntington Hyatt Wedding

March 20th, 2010

So excited to be sharing this wedding with you, as Hannah and Thomas wed last March at Huntington Hyatt regency which was absolutely gorgeous. They wanted something timeless but fun and modern. Enlisted the talented Cesar Haro to put together the fun color combination of ocean blue, platinum, baby blue and ivory. Adding in the embellishments in the three different styles of center pieces and the perfect invitation set with multiple graphic elements came out just perfect. Thanks Hannah and Thomas for allowing us to have creative freedom, which all of us (vendors) appreciated and in the end, felt prideful and personal with the end result. And big applause to Kevin who knows how to capture it all!

March 27th, 2010 Saturday

Finally, we are pleased to feature Kathy and Tyron’s Wedding from March. The happy couple was married at the beautiful First Congregational Church of Pasadena where I must say they have the most friendly church coordinator!  After the ceremony they took off  to the famous Pasadena City Hall for more photos and cocktails and dinner was held at the beautiful Westin Pasadena. Their reception was total elegance with champagne and pink satin linens and the most scrumptious dessert was prepared by our famous baker, Amber Koh. Congratulation Kathy and Tyron! Carrie + Terang | Sheraton Universal Wedding

.

Carrie + Terang = Loveliness & Loveliness

Carrie & Terang are just about the sweetest, most laid back people and their accomplishments in life leave me in awe. They actually had a first wedding 2 weeks ago in Chile where Terang grew up. However, the earthquake hit 3 days before their wedding damaging their hotel so they had to change their venue at the last minute. When I heard the earthquake news, I was in shock. Thank god, everything went smooth and their wedding was done safely and beautifully.

Now here in Los Angeles for their second wedding (the one they had been waiting for more ), we wanted to create a chic, modern and lovely ambience using blush pink, gold, white with a black accent. When we first visited newly renovated Sheraton starview room, we really wanted to bring the hotel’s modern look & feel to match our wedding. The damask design brought out the modern look we were going for which blended well with the curtain and our gobo projection on the ceiling. The damask design was used through out all of our stationeries as well as our customized napkins. Terang also surprised Carrie by serenading to her at the wedding reception.  How sweet is that? =)

These beautiful details were captured by Peter from PPS once again and Kwiri from Kwirious photography.

Jenny + John | Hacienda Heights Wedding

.

January 30th, 2010

I finally got some of these great images from Minmi photography and I’m excited to share them with you!

I really admire the love that Jenny & John has for each other. They are a high school sweetheart and have been together for more than 10 years!!!! I was very happy and emotional for them since I knew both of them went through a lot of hardship to come this far and they were very patient and understanding to each other. I believe their friendship was the key to a successful relationship and they truly compliment each other. I couldn’t be happier to see them getting married and I was lucky to be part of this very special day!

On January 30th, 2010, we were a bit worried about the weather being so unpredictable but we had the most beautiful day with a clear sky. Both the ceremony & reception was held at the St.Matthews United Methodist church in Hacienda Heights.

The couple had to change their venue from a country club to church so we had to bring in everything from the caterers to chairs. Our biggest challenge was the church reception hall but using some lighting, linens, napkins and chair covers made a huge difference. Their vintage charm theme with ivory, champagne, orange and gold colors came together elegantly and the vintage Rolls Royce  topped it all!

Jenny was blushing and smiling all day with a gorgeous wedding gown and she looked prettier than ever! It was an awesome day for an awesome couple! Congrats to you both and best wishes from bella destinee team!

Zoila + Eric | Westlake Village Inn Wedding

August 30th, 2009

Zoila & Eric tied the knot at the Westlake Village Inn last weekend.! What a beautiful affair it was! The weather was amazing, the breeze just right, and the day – just fabulous! The bride looked stunning and she reminded me of Eva Longoria on her wedding day.

This setup was beautiful and perfect for the intimate celebration of 90 guests. Minimalist, yet feminine, orange florals surrounded the ceremony site as guests sipped on their pre-ceremony cocktails, flute duet gleefully playing in the background.

And we anxiously await the professional photos from amazing photographer from Natalie and here they are!
