KADA Holiday Party | Paris Hotel, Las Vegas

Second year of KADA (Dental Association), corporate event was a huge success! (Remember the first year’s Vegas-themed party at Wilshire Country Club?) On December 17th, 2011, more than 400 members and friends of KADA joined together for a night of celebration for their annual holiday party right after the 2 day Scientific National Conference.

The festivities were held at Paris Hotel, Las Vegas, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. The Champagne Ballroom was adorned with beautiful lights and golden Christmas decors.

From the Spanish guitarist, special performances, photo booth, MC (who flew in specially for the event) and the delicious food circulating endlessly throughout the room, there was no shortage of stimuli that night. Corporate yet very glamours (since in Vegas), meaningful (giving scholarships to future dentists) yet fun (great programs with amazing raffle prizes and Vegas style entertainment throughout the night), many said that they would be talking about the party for years to come. My week in Vegas (from prep to execution) was well worth it. Months of planning coming into reality is what I love about my job. I had such a blast and already looking forward to 2012 party!

Holiday party at Wilshire Country Club

Hello everyone! I am back today with a lovely treat: a look at the juicy details of the Holiday party I had planned back in December at the Wilshire Country Club. It still feels a bit awkward writing 2011 on my calendar but something tells me that I’m going to have a fabulous year and I’m already excited. Not to mention I still have some gorgeous weddings to share with you from last year.

January is an official “booking season” for the wedding industry. I’ve been having a wonderful time meeting with new clients and planning for some really awesome 2011 events. An amazing year-end party at Wilshire Country Club on December 17th. The evening was filled with happy Christmas spirit. We’ve decided on our theme early on in preparation for the National Convention of Dental Association next year in Vegas (Yeah, Vegas!!! We’ll be in Vegas around this time next year!)….To make it feel like a pre-Vegas event and juice up the party, we’ve included many interesting elements such as Vegas show girls, table games, live carolers, laugh factory comedian, fire dancer and a famous Korean comedian (Rocky Hong) who flew out just for our event. I will blog more about the details soon but here are some of the highlights. Stay tuned for more.

A month of December has been very busy for us with holiday parties. Just recently, Koreadaily (One of the major Korean newspapers) reached out to me for an interview. It was an honor to be featured and the interview was about how to make great Holiday parties.

“….Every year around this time, there are a lot of year-end parties, reunions and functions. It is probably the most awaited month for a lot of people to meet their loved ones and friends exchanging greetings and gifts. That’s why it is very important for those responsible for hosting and coordinating such events to make them fun, exciting and memorable. To help make it successful, here are some of the tips from Bella Destinee….”

1. Invitations: Your guests are very important in making a successful holiday party so make sure that they are informed and invited early on. Give them their invitations in advance, usually 3~4 weeks before, so they can mark their calendar and RSVP. A follow-up email or phone calls would not hurt either.

2. Place/Venue: In preparation for the parties, you need to look for a good venue. As in most of the parties or events, selecting a good venue is almost 50% of a successful event. In the process of choosing your venue, consider the overall atmosphere of the place, your party’s theme, capacity, and proximity to your guests’ work or home.

3. Food & Drink: Once your venue is taken care of, the next item is food and drink. As you can tell from your own experiences, food and drink play such an important role in all parties. Your guests are expecting great food, so make sure your caterer is top-notch (they don’t necessarily have to be expensive…there are lots of great caterers out there who make fabulous food. This is where you might need some professional recommendations). Also, keep your overall theme of the party in mind when preparing your food and drink.

4. Gifts/Favors: Christmas is the perfect season to share your love and care so make it more meaningful with your gifts. Again, keep your theme in mind and pay attention to little details… There are thousands of gift ideas on the web so take time to do some research beforehand.

5. Theme: One of the most important aspects of any party, if not the most important, is the overall theme of the party. Whether it is a special costume-centric, 60′s or 70′s, Hawaii luau, and many more that you can think of, a theme is like a backbone of your party. Without it, the party will be flat and unfocused. With a theme, it is focused, exciting, and memorable. I believe that even if your party doesn’t have a theme, your food and décor should have consistency throughout (yes, you can actually have a theme around color for your party as well…When a theme is well chosen, it’s all downhill from there. You can have your food and décor around it.

6. Décor? Do you really need that? It depends on what type of party or your budget. But the answer is yes….if you get creative regardless of your budget, you can add a lot of fun decorations to your party and trust me, your guests will appreciate it.

7. Entertainment: Every great party has great entertainment. Good entertainers and MC’s can make or break a party. Yes, it is from my own experience (I’ve learned it the hard way). Make sure you know your entertainer’s qualifications and have their references.
