Vows
Nov 28th
. .

There is no wrong way to approach the topic of Vows. Only you and your partner understand the depth and importance of your loyalty, devotion, love, and commitment to one another so however you choose to display your relationship on your wedding day is entirely up to you.
. .
If you do decide to write your own vows, one thing that you should keep in mind is time. As much as your guests love and adore you both, and will enjoy being at your wedding witnessing your union, they most likely do not want to sit through a vow that is 10 minutes long. If you read the traditional vow out loud and time yourself, it only adds up to about 35 seconds long. If you write your own vows, I suggest it not to be longer than 2 minutes. Your guests already understand the dedication you 2 have for one another, you wouldn’t be getting married if that weren’t the case! So you don’t need to take too long displaying that in your vows.
. .
Here is the traditional vow:
“I, (name), take you, (name), to be my beloved (wife/husband), to have and to hold you, to honor you, to treasure you, to be at your side in sorrow and in joy, in the good times, and in the bad, and to love and cherish you always. I promise you this from my heart, for all the days of my life.”
. .
Here is a beautiful personalized vow:
“From this day on, I choose you, my beloved (Name), to be my (husband/wife). To live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side, and sleep in your arms; to be joy to your heart, and food for your soul; to bring out the best in you always, and, for you, to be the most that I can. I promise to laugh with you in good times, to struggle with you in bad; to solace you when you are downhearted; to wipe your tears with my hands; to comfort you with my body; to mirror you with my soul; to share with you all my riches and honors; to play with you as much as I can until we grow old; and, still loving each other sweetly and gladly, our lives shall come to an end.”
. .
Here is a short and sweet personalized vow:
“I promise to be there when you need me,
to fill your days with sunshine, to comfort you and encourage you,
to help you reach your goals, to be your best friend
ever and to love you all my life with all my heart.”
. .
As you can see all of the examples are touching and heartwarming. They are your vows –write them however you want!
Sunny + Young | Cravens Estate Pasadena Wedding
Nov 22nd
Dinner was buffet style food stations featuring Santa Maria style BBQ, Asian fusion woks, mixed crudite with assorted dips & perfectly ripened exotic fruit and fresh vegetables. Live jazz vocalist serenaded Bride, Groom and guests all night long. We surprised the guests with late night snacks – crepe station & fresh oven baked cookies and milk shooter.

Shiri + Dante | Marrakesh House Wedding
Nov 15th

Dear readers,
The lovely Shiri and Dante got married last July and I’m thrilled to be sharing this post with you.
Shiri’s vision was to have a contemporary lounge feel that is not stuffy or restricting for any of the guests. She wanted it to be a true celebration that everyone could enjoy themselves in a more relaxed atmosphere. So the goal was to have a simple, chic, and elegantwedding. The main idea was to have the venue speak for itself. Choose a great location, pray for great whether, and the rest will fall into its place. As luck would have it, it did.
Marrakesh House was the perfect fit for them, a unique hilltop Mid-Century Modern remodel home that combines environmentally friendly standards with a Moroccan design aesthetic. Everyone fell in love.
Now the details. They both felt that there should be a central theme; a design aesthetic that reflected who they are as individuals and as one. The thumb print concept played this role beautifully throughout. They both loved modern designs and the sophisticated color combination of Brown and Red did indeed expressed a simple, chic and elegant feeling throughout the wedding.
Enjoy these lovely images, courtesy of Emily photo. Emily sees the world in such a beautiful way — I am in love with these photos and will let them do the narrating.

Dapper groom! aka Mr.teddy bear~

I was watching this beautiful moment behind them and it made me teary.
Emily wrote, “Dante not only entertained us with his goofy poses, he also showed his softer side. For a big-time bouncer at a club in Hollywood, he wasn’t hesitant to show emotion, so cute!” I totally agree!

Shiri and I both loved similar things so planning for all the details was very fun!
They got married underneath the “Chuppah” which was sewn together with warm wishes and messages from each guest. It was truly meaningful and personal.

Of course we had to throw some Jewish tradition. I love the energy of “Hora” dance!

These folks really knew how to get down and party~~ =)

.
Dear Shiri & Dante – Words can’t express how much I adore the two of you. Working with you this year has been a complete joy. Looking at these photos brings me a smile again. Thank you for inviting me into your lives and allowing me to help you bring your juicy ideas to life!

Your Wedding Day magazine | Rancho Las Lomas
Nov 15th
.
.
With my beautiful BELLA girls, Miriam & Serena. We had such a great time being guests to a great party!
We’re not allowed to share any pictures of the set up from the event since it’ll be on the next issue of YWD magazine, but you can get a glimpse of our favorite design in the picture above. Can you spot the word “YUM” behind me? Yes, we were standing in front of a very unique San Francisco inspired cake table.
The YWD (Your Wedding Day) magazine industry event was held on November 10th, at Rancho Las Lomas. Open wine and champagne bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, and beautiful mock wedding setups in different themes were the talk of the party. And why wouldn’t they be, they had a magazine photo shoot earlier that day so everything (and everyone) was glamorous and camera ready! Gorgeous uplighting along the walls and in the lush trees certainly added to the feeling of “wow, we must be at an important event!” It was a definitely awe- inspiring event for us.
24 Carrots Catering served the most savory shrimp tostada bites and kahlua pig sliders just to name a few of their items. The coffee station was a nice warm touch (considering it was 49 degrees out!) where you were welcome to top off your coffee with as much whipped cream and amaretto and caramel syrup as you liked…YUM-O!
The DJ kept the top 40’s hits coming and pumped up the handsome crowd. With stimulating eye candy, a few glasses of wine, and satisfying food, one felt very honored to be in the midst of such excitement.
Rancho Las Lomas is Southern California’s most spectacular private home and zoological garden. Hidden away in the foothills, this lovely special event location is used for weddings, film and photo shoots, and unique corporate, and commercial events. If you wish to plan your event there, please give us a call or email.
